The Woolshed at Ohariu Farm is a wedding venue, exquisitely sited, purpose built venue hidden away in stunning countryside, only twenty minutes from central Wellington. A haven of peace and tranquillity, providing the perfect setting for a relaxed wedding reception in picturesque surroundings.
This charming wedding venue has recently been carefully refurbished giving it simplicity and freshness that is very appealing as is the setting and grounds. Up to 175 guests can be seated for dining. The cuisine is exquisitely prepared fresh onsite by our own chefs.

We wanted our wedding to be perfect, and were so pleased when we discovered The Woolshed at Ohariu Farm. We loved its appealing charm and the fact that it was so easy to get to from Wellington. The ideal location!
Our wedding atmosphere was never compromised - The Woolshed had an elegant sense about it which was expertly supported by your knowledge and staff's friendliness and professionalism. That day you quietly became our extended family by caring for us all.

The Cottage
The set up and rehearsal time must be discussed and booked in advance and is fully dependant on other venue bookings, and therefore subject to change as commitments dictate. Please be aware that some flexibility will be required so be careful of committing to set arrangements in the week prior to be able to accommodate this.
Office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and any phone calls and emails outside these hours will be responded to on the next business day.
Weekend viewings arranged by appointment only.

Ohariu Farm is a privately owned venue situated on the farm and therefore not at risk of being sold or having a management change from the time you book to the time of your event.
Both indoor and outdoor weddings can be well hosted - our large open fireplace and wide wrap around verandah are attractive and practical features. Children are welcome.
Perfect space options where your guests are all on a single level and your dance floor and indoor ceremony comfortably accommodated without the need to move any furniture.
Situated only 20 minutes from central Wellington, where guests have the option to self drive (and even leave their vehicles overnight for no charge if needed) or transport can be arranged.
Provides a taste of stunning rural New Zealand scenery and lifestyle for overseas guests.
Prices includes GST, venue, first-class food, tables, linen, staff and so much more - makes it nice and easy to calculate your pricing!
Weddings with a Difference
Ever considered a Friday evening or Sunday afternoon celebration?
Ohariu Farm happily caters for smaller wedding groups who may like to enjoy a less formal or an intimate style wedding with numbers around 40 to 50.
We are able to host Sunday weddings for those wishing to relax and celebrate with close friends / family and offer freshly prepared barbeque or buffet menus with an extensive wine list of your choosing, or one that you would like to tailor make.
Alternatively, a Friday evening wedding from 5pm to midnight may appeal, where you're able to celebrate with a fine selection of canapes, platters and bubbly.
We are experienced in working with you and your budgets and these options are becoming increasingly popular if you would like to discuss them with us further.
Please note that weddings held on public holidays incur a 10 % surcharge on food.
