As one of Martinborough’s most respected estates, after 27 years Margrain is still family owned and managed. This helps to drive and inspire the team to work meticulously to craft wines with verve, balance and finesse from some of the regions oldest vineyards.
Martinborough is one of the best boutique winemaking regions of New Zealand famous for its unique and vineyard unique wine selection, producing a vast array of aromatic whites and beautifully textured Pinot Noirs.
Daryl and Graham Margrain planted the first vines in 1992 in a place now named the home block. They have been making beautiful wines every since. With winemaker Strat Canning at the helm, they have been able to continue with the production and variety of wines from the vineyard.
